(Funeral service for Otanak)
Otanak was a great deer fawn. He went everywhere with Jamie and Awasin, even after Awasin murdered his mother for food. He could have held a grudge against them, or even attempted to trample them in their sleep, but no, he was a kind deer, a small deer with a big heart. One day, he went wandering in the bush, and there, he met his gruesome...death...wolves. Everything needs to eat to survive, but we just wish it hadn't been him that saved a life, at the cost of his own. As we remember him, let us comfort ourselves in the thought that he will be with the spirit of his mother, and possibly his father now...now go, and let us remember the good times we had with him...farwell Otanak, my friend...farewell...

Lost in the Barrens is SUCH a sad book...:(

But it's a really good, gripping story.
Poor, Poor Otanuk...

I am going to get pictures of my puppy on soon.:):):)

Sheep are fuzzy! The plural word for sheep is sheep, not sheeps!

Snoopy and Woodstock rock your socks!
I love the book Lost In The Barrens byFarleyMowat! It's an amazing book of survival, and at some parts its kind of sad:(

It's really cool because Farley Mowat came to my mom'shouse in(I think) Coppermine when she was six. FarleyMowat also mentions my grandpa in one of his books.

I find that cool!
